Not all museums are created equal. That's a given. The feeling I get when I visit most is that either the content is amazing but the place is average, or the opposite and no art piece can match the architectural style. Maybe it's me being picky (most certainly) and I can't appreciate a lot of good things, but that's usually how I feel.
However when you combine the Luxembourgish banking budget with some high-quality curation and architecture, you get one of the best galleries that I've seen lately. Without being too heavy, the place mixes perfectly its seventeenth century basis with the concrete white building that sits on it. Then the nature around it makes you breathe easily yet other buildings are never more than 50 meters away.
The same feeling goes for the inside, where spacey rooms welcome stunning artwork, both permanent and temporary. The exhibition we saw was from David Wojnarowicz and it blended black and white photography with splashes of colour on huge canvases. A must see. But enough said, I hope this small selection of pictures of the museum (and a bit more) will motivate you to go and visit the place. It's great!
